The Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant Program provides affordable funding to rural areas for the development of essential community facilities.  These include facilities that provide an essential service to the local community for the orderly development of the community.  Private, commercial or business undertakings are excluded.

Funds from this program can be used to purchase, construct, and/or improve essential community facilities, as well as purchase equipment and pay related project expenses. Qualifying projects would include the following: health care facilities (i.e., hospitals, clinics, dental clinics, and nursing homes), public facilities (i.e., town halls, courthouses, airport hangars, or street improvements),  childcare facilities, fairgrounds, community centers (otherwise known as community support services), and public safety services (i.e., fire departments, police stations, fire trucks, public works vehicles and equipment).
