Notes

The primary goals of the Traffic and Safety Division of the Utah Department of Transportation is to improve safety in the areas surrounding schools and to assist and encourage students living within 1.5/2 miles to safely walk or bike to school.  To assist in achieving this goal, a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program has been implemented statewide.  Funding for both infrastructure improvements and educational programs to promote safe walking and bicycling to and from elementary, middle, and junior high schools is available.
