Through Rural Utilities Service Water and Environmental Programs (WEP), rural communities obtain the technical assistance and financing necessary to develop drinking water and waste disposal systems. WEP provides funding for the construction of water and waste facilities in rural communities. WEP also provides funding to organizations that provide technical assistance and training to rural communities in relation to their water and waste activities.
Featured Project
Whiterocks & Mosby Canal Rehabilitation
With the assistance of the Basin Salinity Control Grant, JDE and Whiterocks Irrigation Company were able to work together to save 4,800 acre-feet of water. In addition to this, JDE updated the Whiterocks Irrigation Company Water Management/Conservation plan, allowing the communities that Whiterocks Irrigation Company serves to increase efficiency and become better prepared for future endeavors. The new water management/conservation plan accomplished these things by adding new improvements in their irrigation system, new storage facilities, updated water rights and change application information, and integration with culinary water supply for Tridell/Lapoint Water District and treatment plant.
